Iruvai
Cleansed by the sun, and tired from treading water, the angels struggled to stay afloat / Iruvai, (lit. “sun wind”), is the Dhivehi name of for northeastern monsoon which brings sunny days and clear waters. / Part of an ongoing project to put my photographic archives from the Maldives to rest. I will never return, so each photograph I cling onto feels like a memory that needs to be buried. Fading visions that feel further and further away, and no matter how hard I claw at the past, it keeps slipping through my fingers / Digital collage and illustration from my own photographs. / (2026)
